Around 40 such police personnel making reels identified; action will be taken against them
Police Headquarters issued letter containing guidelines (SOP) to all districts in this regard
Making reels in uniform is a violation of the SOP; all districts instructed to ensure its full compliance
Patna, Apr 22: Tightening its noose on the growing tendency of making reels among police personnel, Police Headquarters, Patna has issued a detailed guidelines prohibiting them completely to make reels while wearing uniform or during duty hours.
It will be mandatory for all the police personnel to strictly follow the guidelines issued in the form of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), failing which disciplinary action will be taken against them.
Strict guidelines (SOP) have been issued by the Police Headquarters (Social Media Centre) in this regard. The letter has been sent by the Assistant Inspector General (Welfare) to all the Senior Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police including those in the Rail Unit.
Though, the letter clearly states that a SOP with regard to the use of social media has been issued in this regard but several police personnel have been found violating these guidelines.
All the districts have been asked to take appropriate action against such erring officials and personnel. Besides, police officials, at every level of hierarchy, have been directed to ensure the strict compliance of the SOP.
Following the strict monitoring of the police officials and personnel, Police Headquarters (Social Media Centre) has identified such officials and personnel involved in such activities. A complete list of such individuals (officials & personnel) has also been sent to all districts along with the letter.
The number of such personnel is around 40 with Patna accounting the highest number of 10 police personnel. Of the 10 police personnel, it includes personnel from constables to Sub-Inspectors with the highest number being of women constables. All the districts have been directed to ensure the strict compliance of the SOP.
