On the special occasion of Diwali, PM Modi visited Bastar, Chhattisgarh, where he celebrated Diwali with the brave soldiers. Since 2014, PM Modi has celebrated Diwali with the country’s brave soldiers every year. In Bastar, PM Modi also addressed the soldiers and said that millions of Indians, both in the country and around the world, are celebrating this holy festival of lights.

On Friday, PM Modi extended Diwali greetings to the countrymen. He then announced that he would celebrate Diwali with soldiers in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. In an Instagram post, the PM wrote, “I am going to Bastar on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Where Naxalites wreaked havoc until yesterday, there is a spring of development today. I am going to pay homage to the brave soldiers, their sacrifice, dedication, and austerity.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with security personnel in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. The Prime Minister said, “Today, millions of Indians across the country and in every corner of the world are celebrating this holy festival of lights. People are traveling from far and wide to return home. This is a wonderful occasion for families and loved ones to come together and celebrate. I too have come to celebrate Diwali among you. Those who protect the nation on the borders and within the country, those who are the protectors of the country and the brave sons and daughters of Mother India, you are all members of my family.”

PM Modi said, “Diwali 2026 is truly special. Such a Diwali has come to you after 40-50 years. This is the first Diwali when the country has won its decades-long battle against Naxalism and Maoist terrorism. This is the first Diwali when every district in the country is free from Naxalism.”

The PM said that this is the first Diwali when crores of countrymen have left behind the fear of Naxalism. This is an extraordinary achievement, and a huge credit for it goes to you. This credit goes to millions of brave men and women like you, our soldiers and security personnel. That is why I have come here today to celebrate Diwali with you.

He told the security personnel that you have made countless sacrifices for the unity and integrity of the country. You have made huge personal sacrifices. Crores of countrymen are proud of you. With this gratitude and a sense of belonging, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all of you on Diwali.

PM Modi said that to take the country forward, we must face and defeat the country’s enemies with determination and a well-thought-out strategy. The political will that was lacking in the country to do this was strengthened in 2014. You gave this ‘Pradhan Sevak’ the opportunity to serve Mother India and we have seen how the situation started changing after 2014. He said that for a long time we saw that our soldiers lost a lot of lives in Naxalite attacks, but for the first time in 47 years, a remarkable incident took place. During the last one year, not a single CRPF soldier deployed on duty was martyred. This is the victory of the country’s right policies and strong resolve. This is the victory of your bravery, courage and restraint.
