Investigating authorities had completely ruled the Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput case a suicide. In fact, the investigation initially named Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput’s father as accused. Meanwhile, the families of Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput believed that Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput did not commit suicide but were brutally murdered.

At first, the voices of Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput’s families were largely ignored, but since Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, took the case to the Bombay High Court through his lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, the tables began to turn. While the Mumbai Police initially refrained from filing an FIR against these individuals due to the involvement of prominent political figures and bureaucrats such as Rhea Chakraborty, Dino Morea, Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, and Paramvir Singh, the case was handed over to the CBI after the Bombay High Court ordered the case to be transferred from the Mumbai Police to the CBI, an FIR was filed against them based on an application filed by Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian. Despite these individuals being named as accused in the CBI FIR, the CBI has yet to initiate any action, including taking them into custody and interrogating them. This led to widespread discussion that these individuals are not only well-known individuals but also involved in the illegal drug trade and extortion, which means they possess large amounts of black money, which they can use to suppress the case for a short period and then settle it. Despite the transfer of this case from Mumbai Police to CBI, they will once again, with the power of their influence and black money, get this case declared as a suicide case by CBI as well and then will happily continue with their business. Nilesh Ojha, the lawyer of Disha Salian’s father Satish Salian, has repeated this point several times in interviews given on Qvive network that when he took up this case, he too was harassed by these named accused by saying that these people are very expert in setting getting, hence nothing will happen to these people and this case will ultimately be proved to be a case of suicide.

Nilesh Ojha, the lawyer representing Disha Salian’s father, Satish Saliyan, believes that they have reached a point where they will not only secure jail sentences for the named accused, such as Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, Dino Maria, and Paramveer Singh, but they are also poised to successfully put behind bars the brokers involved in protecting them, such as Kishore Biyani, Nikhil Kamat, and the Indian wealthy who are glorifying these accused and using their money to circumvent the law and protect them, so that they can later profit from them. He stated that the efforts of the CBI, which is taking action against corrupt officials in the PMO, are rapidly tightening the noose around these accused. Referring to the Kishore Biyani case, he explained how, along with Nikhil Kamat and Rhea Chakraborty, all the accused will be brought to justice, and Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput will receive justice.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case of bank fraud of ₹904.32 crore against Kishore Biyani, Future Retail, and his brother Rakesh Biyani on November 4, 2026.

According to the FIR filed on a complaint by the State Bank of India (SBI), this case is a purely corporate bank loan fraud. The key details are as follows:
Loan Type: Future Retail Limited (FRL) had taken a loan from SBI and a consortium of nine banks for working capital and business use.

Fund Siphoning: A forensic audit (covering the period between 2017 and 2022) found that the Biyani brothers did not use the loan funds for the purposes for which they were sanctioned. The funds were diverted and layered into their subsidiaries and related entities through suspicious transactions.

Names included in the FIR: The CBI FIR explicitly names Future Retail Limited, promoters Kishore Biyani and Rakesh Biyani, the company’s then-directors, guarantors, and some unidentified government officials (bank officials). It invokes sections of criminal conspiracy and the Prevention of Corruption Act for fraud.

Section 409 of the erstwhile Indian Penal Code (IPC) or the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code is a highly specific and serious non-bailable offense. To invoke it against any accused, courts and investigating agencies must meet three basic conditions:
1. Special legal status: The accused must be a public servant, banker, merchant, or legal agent.
2. Control over property: It must be proven that the victim (such as a bank or the public) appointed the accused as a ‘trustee’ or ‘guardian’ of their property or funds by virtue of that status.
3. Criminal misappropriation: The accused must have breached that trust and embezzled or diverted the property for personal gain.

However, the investigating agency has kept Nikhil Kamat and Rhea Chakraborty out of this legal scope. The CBI has cited the following reasons:

There is no ‘Entrustment’: Neither Nikhil Kamat nor Rhea Chakraborty are agents or bankers of SBI Bank, nor were they part of the board or management of Future Retail. SBI Bank did not entrust any funds to them.

Personal Investment vs. Bank Fraud: If an investor (be it Biyani or Kamat) invests in someone’s startup using their personal assets or legitimate funds, it is their personal business decision. Unless the CBI finds a solid trail that “₹904 crore looted from SBI has directly reached Rhea Chakraborty’s account,” she cannot be made an accused in this case.

However, Nilesh Ojha, the lawyer representing Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, claimed on the Qvive network that Nikhil Kamat, through his business relationship with Kishore Biyani, secured ₹1 crore in seed funding for Rhea Chakraborty’s new fashion/clothing startup, “Chapter 2.” He will not only raise this issue in court but also directly question these agencies about their negligence at a rally in Mumbai on November 19th. He believes that while he has numerous witnesses against the named accused, including Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, Maria, Paramvir Singh, etc., the agents will link the Kishore Biyani case to all these named accused, and they will all remain behind bars, ensuring justice for Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput.
