Often, driving licenses become torn over time, and sometimes the DL’s printing also wears off. In such a situation, you can easily download your driving license using your phone. There are not just one but four ways to do this. These include the DigiLocker app, the Transport Services Portal, the mParivahan app, and DigiLocker’s WhatsApp chatbot.
To download your driving license using the DigiLocker app or the website parivahan.gov.in, download the DigiLocker app on your phone or open the DigiLocker app in your phone’s browser.
Log in to the app or website.
Search for “Driving License” in the search bar.
Select your state’s Transport Department.
Enter your driving license number.
Your DL will then appear in your documents on the app or website.
It’s worth noting that the DL downloaded from DigiLocker will look different from your regular DL, but it will be legally valid. If you wish, you can even show it to the traffic police.
If you don’t want to use the DigiLocker app or website, you can use the DigiLocker bot directly on WhatsApp.
To do this, first save the number 9013151515 on your phone and send a message saying “Hello” or “Hi” to it.
You will now be asked whether you want to use DigiLocker or CoWIN services.
Select “DigiLocker Services” here, and after completing the verification via OTP, a complete list of your documents saved on DigiLocker will appear.
Now, select the “Driving License” option, and you will get the PDF of the document to download on WhatsApp.
If you want to download your DL on your phone using an app other than DigiLocker, you can download the mParivahan app.
After logging in to this app, click on the Create Virtual DL option.
Now enter your DL number and date of birth.
Enter your DL number and date of birth.
After this, a virtual driving license with a QR code will appear on your phone screen.
You can also download this license to your phone and show it offline.
