A 43‐year‐old man was seen at the dermatology clinic with a 3‐month history of skin rash. One day after receiving his first dose of Moderna (mRNA‐1273) COVID‐19 vaccine, a painful rash developed over the cheeks that eventually spread to the scalp, back and chest over 10 days. He also complained of difficulty in squatting, lifting arms, and swallowing, as well as a weight loss of 5 kilograms. He had no past medical history or pre‐existing skin conditions and is not on any long‐term medications.

The parents of Dangal actor Suhani Bhatnagar have spoken about the cause of her death. Suhani, who played the child Babita Phogat in the Aamir Khan-starrer, died at the age of 19 on Friday.
Best known for playing the child Babita Kumari Phogat in the blockbuster film, Suhani was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder, and spent over 10 days at AIIMS before succumbing to her illness. Her parents addressed the media a day after her passing.
In a recent interaction with the media, according to India Today, Suhani’s parents said that she had been diagnosed with dermatomyositis. According to her father, this rare condition was identified around two months ago, when she started experiencing swelling in her hands. The swelling later spread to other parts of her body. He said that Suhani caught a minor infection in hospital, leading to fluid accumulation in her body, including in her lungs. Despite ventilation, her oxygen levels dropped significantly. Her immune system was impacted by the steroids that she was given. Suhani’s father said, “Even after putting her on a ventilator, her oxygen level was very low, and then yesterday evening at 7 pm, the AIIMS doctors said ‘she is not more.’”
