New revelations are emerging daily in the case of alleged unaccounted assets worth over 80 crore rupees belonging to DSP Gautam Kumar, posted in Kishanganj. Now, a shocking twist has emerged in the case. His maid, Paro, has also been found to possess assets worth crores.
Paro, a resident of Kila Bagan in Dharamganj, had a lifestyle unlike that of a typical domestic help. She used a luxury Thar worth approximately 35 lakh rupees. Furthermore, she was often transported by government and private vehicles.
Investigations have revealed that Paro has built a luxurious bungalow worth approximately 1 crore rupees in the Muldwar area of North Dinajpur district in West Bengal. Furthermore, she was gifted a Bullet bike by DSP Gautam Kumar.
Paro has also been very active on social media. She shared photos of herself with a Bullet bike. In one video, she is seen holding approximately 1.5 lakh rupees in cash. In several photos, she is seen with the DSP and his close associates.
Following a raid by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Paro fled with her entire family. This revelation has caused a sensation in the area, leaving the police administration in shock.
Gautam Kumar is accused of amassing illegal wealth worth approximately 80 crore rupees during his 32 years of service. His expensive hobbies, including staying at luxury resorts, family trips, and a lavish lifestyle, were already in the news.
The bungalow he reportedly lives in in Purnia is worth approximately 2.5 crore rupees. More than 1 crore rupees have been spent on its interior and furnishings. His wife is a government teacher, but she also drives luxury cars.
On March 31, the EOU conducted simultaneous raids at eight locations belonging to Gautam Kumar, including Purnia, Kishanganj, Patna, Araria, and Siliguri. During the raids, 36 land documents, documents related to investments in LIC and Noida-Gurgaon, were recovered. Jewelry worth ₹60 lakh, expensive watches, and luxury vehicles like the Creta and Thar were also recovered.
Following the EOU’s action, Gautam Kumar was presented at the police headquarters. DGP Vinay Kumar confirmed that the process for his suspension has begun.
Gautam Kumar, originally from Saharsa and a 1994-batch sub-inspector, has been removed from his post and ordered to report to the police headquarters. SDPO-2 Manglesh Kumar Singh has been given additional charge of Kishanganj in his place.
According to sources, the investigation is ongoing and more significant revelations may emerge in the coming days. This case has created a stir within the Bihar police department.
