Ranchi: In a major development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recovered around Rs 3 crore in cash and documents during a raid at the residence of IAS officer Pooja Singhal in Hazaribara. Singhal has been under suspension for some time in connection with several cases.

According to officials, the ED is conducting raids in several places in the state as part of its investigation into a black money case. During the raid at the residence of Muhammad Ansari, MD of private companies in the state, officials recovered currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000.

The ED had earlier arrested IAS officer Pooja Singhal on May 11 in connection with a black money case related to irregularities in the MGNREGA scheme. Singhal had been suspended several times in connection with other cases as well.

The recovery of such a large amount of cash during the raid at the residence of an IAS officer is a significant development in the ongoing investigation. The ED has been cracking down on black money cases and has been conducting raids across the country in recent times.

The recovery of the cash and documents from Singhal’s residence indicates the involvement of high-profile individuals in black money transactions. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
