Comprehensive Review of the “Tap Water for Every Home” Scheme in Nawada and Jehanabad Districts Completed, Special Emphasis on Ensuring Quick Solutions and Robust Water Supply

A high-level review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Special Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, to ensure the successful implementation of the Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Bihar’s ambitious “Tap Water for Every Home” Scheme and to ensure uninterrupted access to clean drinking water for the general public. The meeting reviewed the progress of the schemes being implemented in Nawada and Jehanabad districts, the status of water supply, and the resolution of complaints received.
During the meeting, the Special Secretary directed officials to ensure prompt and effective resolution of all pending matters so that the public does not face any inconvenience. He stated that the department’s priority is to ensure the supply of clean and adequate drinking water to every household and to ensure that the schemes remain fully functional.
The review found that necessary steps are being taken to strengthen water supply in various areas. Necessary guidelines were issued to the concerned officials for pipeline expansion, water pressure improvement, providing new connections, and resolving technical issues. It was also ensured that projects are regularly monitored and all work is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Special Secretary directed all Executive Engineers and newly appointed Assistant Engineers to regularly visit the field to assess the ground reality of projects and ensure the quality and continuity of water supply. He stated that negligence in resolving any issues will not be tolerated, and transparency and accountability must be ensured in all work.
Assistant Engineers posted from headquarters to divisions were also instructed to complete pending projects within the stipulated timeframe, conduct site inspections, and compulsorily upload photographs of the work to the MIS portal to ensure monitoring of the actual progress of the work.
The meeting also directed that complaints received should be addressed promptly on a priority basis, and that relief be provided to the general public in a timely manner. The department is continuously making efforts to make the water supply system more robust and effective.
The Public Health Engineering Department is committed to its resolve to provide clean drinking water to every household in the state through the “Tap Water to Every Home” scheme and continuous efforts are underway in this direction.
