Jammu & Kashmir: Three terrorists killed in Shopian encounter, weapons recovered

Jammu: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. A police official said security forces had launched a cordon and search operation at Munjh Marg in Zainapora area of Shopian following information about the presence of militants there.

Security forces killed terrorists on the border. Three terrorists were killed during the border encounter held in Shopian district. The encounter took place in the morning time. Those who were killed were identified as members of the banned terrorist organization, Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Encounter took place in Munj Marg area of ​​Jammu’s Shopian district. It is reported that the search operation is still going on. The police have identified the two terrorists who were killed. Police said efforts to identify the third terrorist are ongoing and more information is yet to be received.

The killed terrorists, Latif Lone, an accused in the murder case of Kashmiri Pandit Puran Krishna Bhat, and Umar Nazir, who killed Bahadur Thapa in Nepal, were killed in the encounter with the security forces. A gun and other weapons were recovered from the terrorists.
