BRS leader booked for harassing and misbehaving a 10-yr-old minor girl

Hyderabad: One person who happens to be a local leader of the Bhartiya Rashtriya Samiti, was arrested on Monday for allegedly misbehaving with a minor girl in Hyderabad.

As per the police, the accused leader named Aqueel Ahmad misbehaved with a 10-year-old girl at a shop in the Begum Bazar area.

Police said they have registered a case under POCSO Act. A local area police inspector Namindla Shankar said, ‘Incident took place on Sunday, and we have sent the accused to remand today.

A 10-year-old girl went to the medical shop where a person Aqueel Ahmad misbehaved with her. Later she reached home and informed her parents, who complained to the police,’ he said.

Frightened, the little girl escaped from his clutches and informed her parents about the incident. A case was registered at the Begum Bazar police station and Aqueel Ahmad was arrested under Section 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) IPC (Indian Penal Code) as well as booked under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012).

‘After receiving the complaint, we registered the case under the POCSO Act. The accused was arrested and sent to the remand,’ police added.
