Kerala bakery owner tries to rape minor, father sets the outlet on fire

Kochi: A father who set a bakery on fire after its owner allegedly tried to molest his minor daughter was arrested by police.

The cops also nabbed the bakery owner Baburaj, aka Kannan (51), and booked him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Police said that the incident that led to the events happened on Wednesday at 4 pm, when the girl arrived at the bakery for purchasing.

The girl, who escaped the assault bid of the bakery owner, informed her family of the incident and her angry father reached the shop by 8 pm and set it on fire.

When the girl informed his father about the incident, the enraged man rushed to the shop and set it on fire in the night, police said, adding that the shop suffered damage in the fire. Baburaj’s wife, who was at the shop when the man poured petrol at the small shop and set it on fire, suffered minor burn injuries.
