Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Arif warned the US on Twitter, writing, “If we negotiate with America First representatives in Islamabad, there is a possibility of a compromise beneficial to both sides and the world. But if we face Israel First representatives, there will be no compromise. We will certainly continue to defend ourselves with even greater vigor than before, and the world will pay a heavy price.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held a meeting with United States Vice President J.D. Vance. Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were also present with Vance. Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi were also present at the meeting. The Pakistani Prime Minister stated that talks between Iran and the US would prove to be a milestone towards lasting peace.
Amid ongoing peace talks with the United States, an Iranian delegation led by Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf met and held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi was also present at the meeting.
Following separate talks between the Iranian and American delegations with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the two countries’ delegations now need to meet together, as these two countries, not Pakistan, are responsible for guaranteeing compliance with the agreements reached between them. Meanwhile, Pakistani media reports indicate that the Iranian and American delegations will meet for talks later this evening.
