Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a major attack on the opposition regarding Naxalism. He said that tribals have been instigated to gain power. Naxalism has spread due to leftist ideology. Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha on Monday (March 30) that the country suffered from Naxalism for a long time, but now the country has been freed from it. He said that Naxalism has ended in Bastar. Referring to the tribals, he said that for years they wanted their pain and suffering to be highlighted in Parliament, but for a long time this opportunity was not given.
Amit Shah said that he is happy that what lasted from 1970 to 2026 is being discussed in Parliament today. He said in the Lok Sabha that Naxalism has almost ended in Bastar. Shah said, “I just want to ask those who were speaking on Naxalism: why hasn’t it ended since 1970? Why have the people of Bastar been left behind in development?”
Taking the opposition to task, he asked whether those who are becoming advocates for Naxalism would respect the Constitution. He said that they had rejected the entire system and taken up arms, but the government will run only by the Constitution.
Amit Shah said, “Today I want to ask, you ruled for 60 out of 75 years. Why were the tribals spared from development? Modi is the one who is bringing about development today. Mobile towers were not provided, and you are demanding an accountability. 12 crore people were living under poverty, 20,000 youth were killed, and many became disabled. Development did not reach them. Who is responsible? We should reflect on this.”
Amit Shah said, “They had a Home Minister in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. Now they are saying talk, I have gone there 50 times and said, surrender your weapons, we will rehabilitate you. The one who fires bullets is answered with bullets.
