The results of the voting for five Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar have been announced. The NDA has won all five seats. The NDA secured a total of 202 votes, while the Grand Alliance secured only 37. The Grand Alliance suffered a setback during the voting. Four of its MLAs did not attend the Assembly. These included three Congress MLAs and one RJD MLA.
RJD MLA Faisal Rahman and Congress MLAs Manohar Prasad, Manoj Vishwas, and Surendra Kushwaha did not vote. The absence of these MLAs is also being considered significant in the election results. On the other hand, the NDA leaders who won include Nitish Kumar, Nitin Naveen, Ramnath Thakur, Shivesh Ram, and Upendra Kushwaha.
The RJD had fielded AD Singh as its candidate for the Grand Alliance, but he failed to win. Deputy CM Vijay Sinha, Shravan Kumar from JDU, and Alok Mehta from RJD were present during the counting.
Bihar Congress Chief Rajesh Ram has called for action against the MLAs who did not vote. He said that all the MLAs were in contact until March 13th. Of these, three MLAs did not participate in the voting. Regarding this development, Congress leader Bhakta Charan Das said that the party will petition the Speaker to cancel the membership of the three MLAs. If no action is taken, they will also approach the Supreme Court.
